Save preferences

Is there a way to save a set of preferences? For instance, whenever I open a
file, I want the initial font to be Arial 12pt, the initial fill to be None,
the initial line weight to be 1.2 pts. Better yet, is there a way to save
multiple sets of preferences? For instance, a set for "Customer1", another
set for "Customer2" and so on.

Hi Monica,

You can set (and edit) the default Line- Fill- and Text styles for a
drawing. Then you can save the drawing as a Visio Template (.vst) and
start your new drawings from there.

So you could have Customer1.vst, Customer2.vst, etc.

An article I wrote recently talks about setting the default styles. You
can read it here:

Importing Images as Backgrounds for Tracing

This article talks about a bunch of stuff you might not be interested in
(yet!), so search about half-way down for the sub-title: "Default
Formatting" and read from there on.
