Save problems

Everytime I try to use "Save As" on new documents it closes Word and loses
most of the document (back to last auto save). When I reopen Word I can try
to use the restore , but often there is a large part of the doc missing. I
have tried just using "Save" on default Document 1 name, but this sometimes
does the same thing. Is this a bug and is there a patch?

The most likely culprit is a corrupted Normal.dot file. Take a look here for
solutions (problems opening and closing Word have the identical root
