Save screen shots into MS Word - problems

Using Office 2003/Win XP Pro

I am creating a document. I frequently do ALT-PrintScreen to save a
screen into my document. It works fine, but while in the document, when
I scroll to a screen shot to add text below it, the screen shot doesn't
show up. I know it's there, because I can see the outline of the
screen. If I minimize and then maximize the document the screen shot
show up again, but I would like to be able to see the screen shots all
the time. Does anybody know why they disappear?

Also, sometimes when I have the clipboard open, and I do a
ALT-PrintScreen the screen shots don't go into the clipboard, andybody
know why?

On the View tab of Tools | Options, make sure that "Picture placeholders" is
not checked.
