"Save" Sound again

D

Dan Richardson

I had posted a message that said in part the sound made when Word X
saved did not occur when I saved in Word 2004.

I got a response that dumping preference files might help-- if the sound
was turned on.

Dumb question: I can find no place where I can turn the sound on or off can
anyone help. Thank Dan

If you are asking how to make Word trigger sounds, you need to check this
box:
Word/Preferences/General/Provide feedback with sound

If you are asking how to get your computer to make any sound at all, look at
your keyboard for keys with a horn and sound waves--there should be a
"increase sound" "decrease sound" and "mute" buttons, slight variations on
the design. Or look in the System Preferences for something relating to
volume or speakers.
