Save Text as a picture

Sorry Guys,
Probably a stupid question.

How do I save text or wordart as a picture without the background?
When I save as GIF, JPEG, or TIFF file it has a white background as the page
size.

I want to save the text only with a clear or invisible background

Thanks to All,

Hi.
The following works for me. Are you doing anything different.

Create text box.
Type some text into the textbox.
Right click over box and select 'Save as picture'.
Save as PNG file.

Then when I insert this picture back into Publisher, it has a transparent
background.

To verify this, move the saved picture into the 'scratch' area, (the grey
area at the side of the page). If the background stays grey, then it is
transparent.

Are you inserting into a different program?

When you do use the .png format, there are resolution choices. Try the highest,
see if it makes a difference.

FWIW...aaving as .png works for me with regular text
and WordArt in Publisher 2007 and Word 2007.

Yes,

I am trying to insert into a PDF file using Acrobat 6.0 Pro.

I am trying to imprint my company information on one of my suppliers
brochure.

Thanks,
Scott

Do you have a paint-like program? www.getpaint.net is free, you probably will
have better success with a program designed for graphics.
I have published .png's saved from Publisher with Acrobat, the transparency is
retained.
