Save to a document in a public folder

Hi
I have folders in Public folder for six sites. There is an Excel worksheet
that I have put in the folder.
They need to open the worksheet enter the data for them, then save and close.
I will then go the folder to get the worksheet data,.
When the worksheet is opened it is read only as a an attachment and it can't
be saved by them into the public folder only on their drives is there a way
around this?

It may be possible to do this, but I wouldn't even bother. Exchange is not a
file server - what would you do if two people tried to open/modify the file
at the same time? Do you have Sharepoint? That would be a much better way to
go.
