I'm an Infopath newbie, and I don't currently have access to it, so
please forgive me for asking such a basic question.
As I understand it, Infopath can either be used as a front end to a
database, most likely SQL Server, or it can save info in XML files. My
question is this; If I have designed a form to be used with a database
table, can I use the same form to save data in an xml file? I'm thinking
I might want to take a static "snapshot" of a database record.
Is it possible to do something like "Save as xml" and then continue to
use the form with the database again after the record has been written
to an XML file?
Again, sorry if this is a ridiculously basic question, but I need to
know as part of evaluating Infopath as a possible tool in a document
handling system.
Thanks in advance,
