Save to subfolders in Word

Whenever I use Save As in Word, there seems to be no way to save to a
subfolder. I can save to documents, or the desktop etc, but there is
no arrow with subfolders within those locations, even though such
subfolders do exist. Any ideas?

Hi,

the Save As dialogue is actually part of the Finder, and it behaves the same
way in most other native OS X applications. Next to the Save As text field,
where you enter the file's name, there is a blue arrow; click on it to
expand the dialogue window and have access to a more advanced Finder window
which will let you navigate to locations other than the default ones listed
in the drop down menu.

Hello, further more to what Michael has said. Depending on which OS
you have tou can make things easy. In 10.4 you can add tour favourite/
most visited folders and subfolders to the side bar, so whenewer you
evoke save dialog in word you can go to your folder by one click.
How to do that? Simply open finder - that smiling face icon in your
dock- locate your frequently visited folder thare and drag and drop it
to the left column called *side bar* where icons of you Mac,
desktop... are. Now when you do save in word you will find your folder
on the left side of *save dialog* as well.
