save word content

Hi,
is it possible to save the content of a word document (the text) in an sql
server using only word?

For example after writing some text and pressing save the content is sent to
an sql server?

Thanks
Julia

Hi Julia-

Word does not have an Export feature and, AFAIK, cannot be used as a front
end to a database of any kind, so I would have to say no.

That impression is further based on my understanding that one application
does not typically 'send' data to another. Instead, the recipient file draws
the content in based on features of the receiving program.

Unless some sort of procedure can be written to automate the process for
you, I believe the best Word can do on its own is to "Save As' the
appropriate file format (such as Text Only) for the db user to import.

Yes, if you are using PC Word 2003 and XML as the save format. Otherwise,
"No".

This feature will be enhanced in the next versions of PC Word and Mac Word,
which will support XML as a native format.
