Fails to generate a PDF from Word - error "file in use by another
application" but does not identify the file name. The correct filename is
added to the RecentItems list but not found in the intended folder

Works OK in Access, Powerpoint, Excel etc.

Has anyone any thoughts on how to fix this. I've uninstalled / reinstalled
several times and even downloaded the .exe more than once. Identical
behaviour with SaveAsPDFandXPS so I suspect It is something in Word /
Registry. Word did crash about a month ago so it may be the cause but I
don't know what to look for or how to correct it.

Cheers

db

add another pdf
print driver, like
primo pdf and see
if helps.

however, you will
have to "print" to
the pdf print driver
to save that file
as a pdf.

as far as using the
"save as" method,
its not worth the
trouble to figure it
out the problem.

Thanks db, I did that this morning. I wanted to try out the MS add-in to
see if it was as good as "export to PDF" in Open Office. (Am I allowed to say
that here?) It wasn't. PDF Factory Pro is good but too expensive at $100 a
pop - primoPFF is close on funtionality.

Cheers
