Saved Message - Can't Open Attachment O2k7

I just recently upgraded from Windows XP pro to Windows Vista Business
Edition. When I save an Outllok 2007 email message with an attachment to
location outside of Outlook (folder, desktop, etc.), I can no longer open any
of the attachments in the saved emails. I save the messages in Outlook
Message Format (*.msg). When I open the message and try to open the
attachments, I get a popup error box that says "The operation failed. An
object could not be found." The same thing happens if I try to save the
attachment from the saved email. How do I fix this problem?

Usually caused by Google Desktop Search.

Nope. No Google Desktop Search installed. What elese could cause it?

That's the only think I've heard that causes it. Perhaps someone else will
be able to suggest something.

I had symantec endpoint protection disabled and that was the issue for
me. As soon as I enabled it and the dashboard popped up, Outlook
allowed the downloads (without closing Outlook or rebooting/logging
out).

When open or save attachments in Outlook ..
"The operation failed. An object could not be found."

This was the same problem I had. I enabled Symantec Endpoint Protection back
and no problem. I guess it was protecting me. :) Took me days to figure it
out though. Thanks for the information!

Jake.

Thank you.

This finally sol ve3d my problem. I too could not open or save any
attachments with the same error message. I enabled Symantec and thigs started
to work again.
