saved page will not publish

when i update a page and then click on "save as" the material appears to be
saved. however, when i publish either the specific page individually,
changed pages only or all pages, it does not publish even though it says the
publish is successful. i check the live page and there is nothing there, i
go back and reopen the updated saved page and there is nothing there. what
is happening to my work and how do i correct this evil behavior? i use fp
2003. thanks to all who help.

There are two files involved here - the file you edited and saved (using
"save as"), and the file you started with.
Which one are you checking and/or publishing?
Save As is used to make a copy of a file which may have alterations, it
does not change the original file unless you Save As with the original
name and extension (and then you will get a warning about overwriting an
existing page).

A link to the faulty page on the server may help.

| Here is the link to the faulty page:
| http://www.camp-douglas-1507.org/eventdetails.htm and the other page:
| http://www.camp-douglas-1507.org/1507 calendar.htm
|
| I tried saving it as "web page" the default setting, and then as a html
| text. All that happened is the page went blank and when i recalled the
page
| on the local site it was blank.

ok what are body tags? do i need them? how do i delete them?

Ditto at 01:44 GMT 03/04/2008 (well UK daylight savings time anyway - I
think)

But to answer the question.

Each HTML page should have this structure:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
<html>
<head>
</head>
<body>
</body>
</html>

The doctype tag is an example - it can be other things.

The entire content of the page to be displayed goes inside the tags.
<body>
and
</body>

There should be only one set of <body> </body> tags

To edit the page, use the Code or HTML tab at the bottom of the page.
