Saved Template reverted back to old verion

REALLY weird problem.

I am working in Word 2007 creating a template.

I worked on the template yesterday, created a new form, etc. Saved many
times. Closed everything when I wen thome last night. When I came in this
morning I opened the template and tested what I added yesterday - including
the new userform (so this is how I know my changes were there this morning).

I kept working on the template today, saving along the way. The last time I
closed the template, when I re-opened it, I opened the template from the
RECENT files list. (Which I have been trying not to do.) When I did that, the
template reverted back to the version of the template I had been working on
YESTERDAY!!! What is even stranger is my template has today's time/date stamp
on it, yet when I directly open it from explorer, it still reverts back to
the OLD version - no userform no changes from the past day!

Over the past few weeks, I have noticed issues with files I have been
pulling from RECENT files in Word 2007, so I have tried not to use it.

Anyone having these type of issues??

Are you saving versions of the .dot template from menu File/Versions...?
If not, I would still open the template in question and check that menu
choice to see if versions were accidentally created.

I am still learning Word 2007 -- where do I find version control?

I keep forgetting that Word 2007 is not using the old menu system like
previous versions (no pun intended). I'm not using 2007, maybe someone else
knows. If you know how to open up the help window you could search for help
about version control.
