SAVEDATE Format dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm:ss

Hello

OS: WinXP SP2
App: Word 2003 SP2

When I create a Date & Time Field using (SAVEDATE, CREATEDATE or PRINTDATE)
seconds are always displayed as 00. However, TIME displays seconds correctly.
Any ideas why?

1. Field {SAVEDATE \@ "dd/MM/yyyy HH:mm:ss \* MERGEFORMAT}
2. Displays 02/09/2008 11:18:00

Mike

Some time and date fields just don't record seconds. I don't think this is
documented anywhere (I see I didn't discuss seconds at all in
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/TblsFldsFms/DateFields.htm, probably because they
aren't mentioned in Word's Help topic on the date-time picture switch); you
pretty much have to discover it by trial and error.

It's astonishing that this Discussion group hasn't had a query about this
problem before now. It also fails to display seconds in Word 2002 SP1.

I suspect the fields have operated that way since Word 1.0, which is why the
Help topic doesn't address seconds.

Mike,

I discovered your question about "seconds" when looking for an answer to the
same question you asked. I noticed that you posted your inquiry on 9/2/08,
and it's now Nov. 4, 08. Have you discovered any new info? I've spent WAY
too much time trying to figure out a solution...and am hoping for an easy way
out! :)

If you've solved the problem, would you be so kind as to share it?
