savin a file in Word takes a loooooong time

Erik

It is now about a year ago I reinstalled Windows (XP) and all programmes on
my computer. Lately is has become agonizingly slow. Some functions, like
using explorer from within Word (saving a document and using the Save in
.... to choose drive, folder, subfolder) takes a very long time, about one
minute to open the right folder.

Is there anything I can do to make the computer work better without having
to reinstall Windows and all programmes?

I am using Tune-Up Utilities, but this does not seem to make a difference.

Thanks for any help

Erik

Right-click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop,
left-click on Disconnect Network Drive, and disconnect any mapped
drives that are not currently available.
