Saving 2004 file with 2008 disconnects server

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

Everytime, when I try to save a Powerpoint 2004 file, which I opened in 2008, Powerpoint 2008 starts to save and suddenly the server gets disconnected during the saving process.

When I try to save a file generated directly in PP2008, no problem.

Server is a 10.4.11 OS X Server.

Any ideas?
