saving a copy in the sent items folder

I have a client that sends broadcast e-mails using
mailmerge in Word 2000. After she sends an e-mail out it
doesn't save a copy of it in the sent items folder in
Outlook even though the option to retain a copy in the
sent items folder is checked in Outlook. Is there an
option in Word or MailMerge to have it save a copy in the
sent items folder in the clients Outlook?

Thanks for any help anyone has.

Does your user ever see the items in the Outbox? Does she have multiple mail
(Outlook/Exchange) profiles on her machine?
