saving a .dat file to outlook calendar

I received an outlook meeting notice in my hotmail
account. How do I convert or save the file to my outlook
calendar? It is a .dat file.

I don't think there is any way to do that. Do you have any other
accounts set up in Outlook that the sender could use to send you that
appointment?
