Saving a Filter as "default"

We are using Project Standard 2002. We have a project file that one PM
is creating and he needs to make the current week's tasks visible to
about 15 other people. We figured out how to create a filter that will
only show this week's tasks. The problem is that when you close the
project file and reopen it, it defaults back to the "All Tasks" filter.
Is there a way to save the project so that it always open with that
filter applied?

The problem is that the 15 people who need to view this project don't
have MS Project licenses so we got them a 3rd party product called
"Projette". This allows them to view project files. Unfortunately, it
does not allow those users to select a filter for the project plan.

Hi Tim,

Create a view (View > More Views) and in the View Definition select your
filter. Then when that view is displayed, the filter will be applied.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Hi,

It would be much wiser when the PM would use the copy Picture function and
just send the gif around. No 3rd party, no nothing.

Still, to answer your questiion: supposing the Gantt Chart is the default
view when opened,
Follow this menu sequence:
View
More Views
(if not already selected) select Gantt Chart
Edit
Fill the filter you want.

Thanks for the Copy Picture suggestion. I never knew that was
available in Project and I think that will work out nicely.
