saving a page in fp

when i create a page in front page and go to save it, should i save it in
'all' or just 'web' or 'html' ?

i am having a problem with my links from page to page. i create a table of
one row accross and four cells down to put in the contents boxes on the left
side of my web site pages...
then i hyperlink to all the other pages.
i save them in 'web' and an invisible htm is tagged on the name. my pages
have an address going back into my computer... so that when i publish my web
site of four pages, the links do not work because no one can link into my
computer...

so then i make my hyperlinks go to the web site and then they work, but then
i can not work on my pages without going on the internet and pulling up
explorer...

i have been having problems with no one being able to access any pages but
the home page...

im confused. i think i will save it in the 'all' so i will have plenty of
diff pages so i wont loose any...

also my pictures are being duplicated in different foldes on the remote
site... but if i delete the dups, my pictures do not show up on the internet.
when i put them back, then i have hypelink problems so i have to go fix
every single link. i have been working on my site for about three months
now... i thought it was my host company putting in weird files so i would
delete them.
i had to start all over three times (from scratch) and nothing seems right
any longer.

i guess i could reboot my front page. i wonder if that would help? so i came
here to see if i could learn anything. i do not want any super duper web
sites, i just want simple so folks wont be confussed and my pages wont take
long to open.
too many web sites are just way too confusing and if it takes more than 2
seconds to open, i will close a web site and go elsewhere... www.rarek9.com
and www.schwarzkennels.com could anyone go there and see my problems?

also, i bought four domains but the host company is really slow and i can
not work a web site with them. cant open their site cause the pages take 10
mins to open and it really gets me upset, then i get a blank page or
something ''maddog.com'' i think i got took... so i wrote them for my money
back... i think a host company should host me... and that the site should be
workable.

Save html pages as web pages.

First principles:

Before doing anything, open the web site in FrontPage.

File->Open Site

If the web site is located on your PC browse to the folder containing
your web site.

If the web site is located on a web server type in the URL for the site
in the form http://www.example.com (replace www.example.com for your web
site's domain name or IP address)

Click Open. FrontPage may ask to convert the folder into a web site -
allow it to do so.

The web site will open with a file list on the left.

Import all your images into the web site BEFORE you add them to a page.
Use File->Import to get the images and copy them to the web site.

When you add an image to the page, find it in the File List on the left,
and use the mouse to drag it onto the page. The link to the image will
then be a relative link, and will work anywhere.

Use the Hyperlink dialogue to add links to other pages - highlight some
text and type Ctrl+K, or click the hyperlink button on the toolbar.
Always browse to the page the link goes to. FrontPage will insert the
link as a relative link, which will work when the website is published.

When finished editing, File->Save the page, use the default option (web
page). If you have imported the images you will not be asked to save
those as well. If the save images dialogue does appear, then the images
were not imported and links to them may point to your computer, not to
the web site.

Limit of 2 seconds to open a page? Even on broadband that can be a
very short time, especially when a lot of dynamic content is involved.

You should aim your simple pages to open in about 15 seconds for dialup
users. This means that the page, together with all associated files
(CSS, JavaScript, images) add up to a total size of around 50Kbytes.

If you are editing on the server, always delete everything the server
adds after the </html> on your pages in code view. This code on
rarek9.com home page is duplicated.
It is usually better to edit on your PC and publish to the server.
Mistakes can be checked locally before the public see them.
The links to CSS files and images on www.rarek9.com are pointing to your
PC - a sign that the web site on your PC was not open when you edited
the pages.
