Saving a PP Presentation

Using PowerPoint 2007, I took a PowerPoint Presentation that was in the .pps
format, evidently created using an earlier version of PowerPoint. It
contained 50 photo's. The total file size was 2,764 kb.

All I did to it was add a title page (slide) and delete some of the photo's.
I narrowed it down to 35 photo's (slides).

What I can't understand is, when I saved it, it GREW to 67,432 kb's.
You'd think that the total kb's would be smaller, not larger. It was larger
by over 65,000 kb's.

What happened? Why?
