Saving a Project file offline

Dots

Many of my project managers save a .published project plan offline to work on
the plan while not connected to the network, and then save it back online
when they get reconnected. My question is this: WHERE is this file saved on
the local machine? I've been completely unable to find the file once it is
saved offline. Can you advise? Thanks!

Hi Dots --

Look in the following folder on your local hard drive:

C:\Documents and Settings\[UserName]\Application Data\Microsoft\MS
Project\{xxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx}

If you have more than one folder with the format
{xxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx}, check each of them. you should
see your offline file there.

If you can't find it, try using the Windows search function, searching
for the name of the project on your C: drive. It should have the naming
format "project name.Published.mpp".

Good luck!
