saving a protected template

I need to be able to save a protected template as a word
document and then be able to open it and modify it. The
document has several macros, i need to save it in the same
directory it was created in and once i reopen the document
I don't want the macros to run. Is there any way to do
this?

through code and avoid the autorun macro's to execute, right?

- What would you like to do with the template once opened?
