Saving a VSD as VDX

I am at present trying to save the VSD as a vdx file and view the same in the explorer window as a XML format, But when i try to do the same then i am only able to see the vsd in visio and not in the explorer window. Any pointers as to how to do the job would be very help ful

Rename the .VDX file to .XML before opening it. IE uses the file extension
to determine how to open the document. VDX will simply launch Visio again.
