Saving as Read Only Files

S

Steve Peterson

I have run into a problem saving files in Word. On more
than one occasion I have saved a file off of my home
computer onto a floppy or CDRW and found it to be a read
only file after getting to the office and working on it
and trying to save the updated file.

Hi Steve,

This is the nature of a CD. :) You need to remove the "Read only"
attribute once you copy it off the CD to your local drive.

Personally I only use a CD-R (I don't use CD-RWs) to for permanent
storage. Otherwise I use a USB drive (flash memory). These days the
cost is minimal and sure is handy for file transport!

Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Requests for
assistance by email can not be acknowledged.
