Saving Code Changes in Global.MPT

My Project 2007 code modifications aren't saving to the Global.MPT. They are
in the Applications Data/Microsoft/MS Project/120/1033. The file is not
read-only but the 1033 directory seems to be read-only. I'm unsure why this
would be as it is my applications data directory and data will obviously
change frequently. Also, when I delete the global.mpt a new file is created
in that directory. What do I need to do to allow this file to be modified?
I'm uncomfortable with changing the read-only attribute in the application
data directories until I know why it is set to what it is now.

There's no way you should have data saved to that folder. That would produce
masses of opportunities for corruption and backup systems would not look
there for files to backup.

Corporate setup often sets these folders to read only to avoid program
changes or corruption. Talk to your IT people.

I knew this was probably something simple I overlooked. I saved the global
from the file menu 'Save Global.mpt' while I was in the code window.
