Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
I am using Office 2008 with the latest SP. I have created a few Excel files that I saved as Excel 97-2004 Workbook .xls format that I tried to share with my students, and many had troubles opening the file. Only one person using Office 2007 (Windows) could open the files. Even Mac users could not open the files. I had the person that could open the files under Windows save it again, and try to share it, but others still could not open the workbooks.
If I save the files as Excel 5.0/95 Workbooks, all is fine.
I can't understand why I have to roll back save versions so far to share files? These are pretty straightforward - data in cells and built in financial formulas, no charts, graphs, etc.
This is causing me headaches in class, so help or advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Claude
