My organization has been having trouble managing correspondence as we have a
mixture of fax, email, and standard mail correspondence. We are now trying to
save all types of correspondence for each of our contacts/suppliers in their
individual folders in WIndows. Our network has both MACs and PCs, we need to
be able to access the mail easily from both platforms.
Currently we have our emails saved in personal folders through outlook 2003,
but from now on we want to save them directly as text files onto our network,
so we can look at the list of all correspondence thought the one folder in
Windows, and so they don't have to be accessed via outlook.
2 questions:
1. How do I save the existing emails we have in the pst folders as text
files? Do I have to do them manually, one by one, or is there a way I can do
it with an entire folder.
2. What is the easiest way to save new emails as text files... again, can I
automate it somehow so the filename is automatically generated or do I have
to do it manually by typing in the new filename? If you can do it
automatically, how is the filename generated? (we would like to have it with
the date, the contact name, and the subject line)
