Saving Data on CD

Have HP 9800 with CD-RW/DVD Combo Drive. Using Microsoft
Word. After entering 40 pages of text and scanned
articles, pictures, etc. - backing up intermitently by
saving on CD in Drive D - I started getting a message
indicating that the folder is marked as "Read Only." (I
had not created a "folder;" had just been saving on a
blank CD in Drive D with no problems.) When I tried to
create a "new folder" in Drive D, I got a message
saying "Access is denied."

I'm stumped. Can anyone out there walk me through the
procedures necessary to enable me to create a backup file
on CD in Drive D? Any assistance will be very much
appreciated.
