saving document as "Word 97-2003 & 6.0/95 - RTF (*.doc)"

Hi,

I'm having a problem with an NT4 server indexing Word 2002 and 2003
documents. One of Microsoft's workarounds is to save as type "Word 97-2003 &
6.0/95 - RTF (*.doc). I tested it and it worked like a charm.

Can anyone tell me what consequences I may face by using this as my default
"save as" file type.

The consequence that immediately comes to mind is MUCH larger
file sizes.
