Saving Error

When I try to save something in Word, the save prompt will
not pop up. When I try to close the program, Word asks me
if I want to save and I say yes. When I press the save
button, again, nothing happens. The only way the I can
close the file is to press the close X and then say that I
do not want to save the file.

What happens next is that I try to close Word and I get an
error message that says, "Changes have been made that
effect the global template normal. Do you want to save
these changes"? Again, if I say yes, nothing happens. If
I say no, Word closes.

I have no idea how all of this happened, but I would
really appreciate some help. Thanks in advance.

If you're running Norton AntiVirus, disable its Office Plug-in.

I am not running Norton AntiVirus. I have not installed
any new programs, or changed my computer in any way. This
just suddenly occurred.
