I have Excel for 2008. Every time I make formatting changes to a document such as highlighting a row in color, once I close the document, when I reopen it, the formatting is lost. This includes boldface, changing the width of columns etc.

Can anyone please help?

Are you saving the file in an Excel format? These exact symptoms appear if
the file is maintained as a text file.
