Saving in Vista and opening in XP

I did an assignment in Word on a Vista computer with Office 2007. I then
opened on a XP computer with Office 2007. Why do the documents sometimes
look different? Most of it is the spacing of words. Thanks

Two possibilities:
1. Different printers may cause different text layout.
2. If your paragraphs are justified, check that the two installations of
Word 2007 have the same setting for this option: Word Options > Advanced >
scroll to bottom of window > Layout options > Do full justification the way
Wordperfect does

Another issue that might be making your documents making them look different
is the difference in screen resolution. Also, Vista has a different Graphic
User Interface so that might be modifying the page layout. When you print
the document, does it look the same as if you were printing from Vista?

I also agree with TedMi, check the page layout settings.

Hope this information helps,

Vicente
