Saving JPG files from within OE

While reading e-mail within Outlook Express 6, I used to
be able to right click on the picture and choose Save
Picture as... and save to a JPG. Suddenly, it now shows
the photo can only be asve as a BMP. How do I fix this?
Nothing has been loaded on the system in months. Using XP
Home.
