In Word 2003 is there any way to save the mail merge data link so that when I reopen the document it is saved to that data
For instance
I have a document in the c:\jobs\ABC directory titled Merge.do
I have data in the c:\jobs\ABC directory titled data.db
I have saved the merge.doc to mail merge directly with the data.dbf. When I close the document and attempt to reopen I get the old "Opening this document will run the following SQL command: Select * from 'data.dbf....data from your database will be placed in the document anyway. Do you want to contine?" I hit, YES I want to contine, and then BOOM Select data source dialog box comes up and it brings me to the "My Data Sources" directory. It is extremely tedious work to continue having to remerge the file every time
Any help would be appreciated. And while you're at it, if you can let me know how to change the default directory from "My Data Sources" to "C:\Jobs\" directory that would be SWEET
Thanks
