Hi Greg,
You don't save in OneNote. It saves automatically to a cache (a file
on your harddrive) every 3 seconds or so. I have never lost more than
two or three words, no matter what happened to my computer.
It synchs the changes with different time intervals (depending on how
you access a notebook, e.g. via LAN, WebDAV, SharePoint or locally)
from the cache to the .one files. The cache is not something very
volatile, e.g. you can easily work for weeks at a time just off the
cache (if your notebooks are stored on a server that you can't access
during that time e.g.), and then sync and merge all your changes back
into the notebooks once you are online again.

I just started playing around with OneNote and noticed that there is
no menu command to "save" the notebook I am working in. I can "save
as" and the absence of any information in Help leads me to assume
that there is no "save" feature. How much work can be lost if the
computer craps out while working in a notebook? How often does it
save itself? Thanks.
