saving of audio files

I can see the "audio cache" default storage location when I click on an audio
file saved in notes. But in that directory, there are not any actual files.
where are the files stored, in case I need to save/manipulate/move them
elsewhere?

Did you look in
C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneNote\12.0\OneNoteOfflineCache_Files

That's where they are stored on my vista machine. It would be a similar
path on xp: C:\Documents and
Settings\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneNote\12.0\OneNoteOfflineCache_Files

John, thanks for reply, but all I have there is 'toolbars.dat' and
'preferences.dat'.

I am sharing my notebooks across a groove-synced folder to my other
computers, but I don't see any files there either, so don't imagine it's lost
in those folders.

Any other ideas?
