Why am I 'suddenly' getting pop-up messages stating that the 'Saving of autorecovery file is postponed.'

Preferences / options have been checked, etc.

Because for some reason, Word is unable to write to the Autorecovery file.

That usually means that the network connection has dropped (or the removable
drive has been removed, or the system containing the drive has gone to sleep
....)

It can mean that there is a permissions issue, either on your local computer
or on the network server.

Fire up Disk Utility and run "Repair Permissions".

If that doesn't fix it, come back and we will give you a few other things to
try.

Cheers

I'm having the same issue. Get error message that states "Saving the AutoRecovery file is postponed for 'Normal'". I have repaired Disk Permissions and still get the same message. It doesn't seem to matter if it is a local file on my hard drive or a networked drive. I'm still running Word 2004 ver. 11.5, if that makes a difference.

Thanks,

Hi Jason:

That message literally means "I have lost the connection to the location of
the Normal template."

If you have a network home drive, that's where your Normal template is. If
your network is a little unstable, you will see this message a lot :)

Make sure NO other user can get to your Normal template. The Normal
template must never be shared, otherwise this problem is likely.

Hope this helps
