Saving office 2007 docs on a Windows 2000 server

Since we upgraded to Microsoft Office 2007 documents that are stored on our
server (2000 server) cannot be viewed with the default office logos for the
individual office applications. They also could not be opened by just
clicking or double-clicking on the document. The way users are opening these
documents is by right clicking on the required document and then choosing
open. Is there a fix that can be applied to the 2000 server that would allow
office 2007 documents to be viewed and opened in the standard manner?
