Saving old finish dates before changing

Kesari Suresh

HI,
Iam having a serious problem.
I have to save finish dates before changing them so that i can prepare a
report of old finish dates and new finish dates submitted by team members.

Can you please help me on this issue also. If this needs a formula or any
thing like that can you please elaborate.

Thanks and regards,
Kesari suresh

Click Tools - Tracking - Save Baseline and then click OK. This will save
your original Start and Finish dates in the Baseline Start and Baseline
Finish fields. Hope this helps.

You have Finish 1 - 10 available to you. So you could take the
current actual (or baseline) finish date and copy it to Finish 1 and
label that as Finish As Of 8/2/06 for example. Then, the following
week, you could copy the Actual Finish date to Finish 2 and label it
Finish As Of 8/9/06 etc.

You could also do a date diff comparison or a more simple variance
between the baseline finish and actual finish.

Hope this helps,

In a situation such as yours, I would recommend that you use the Interim
Plan feature of baselining. Here's how:

1. Select the task whose Finish date you wish to capture
2. Click Tools - Tracking - Save Baseline
3. Select the Save Interim Plan option
4. Select the next available unused set of Start and Finish fields
5. Select the "Selected Task" option
6. Click the OK button

You can later add these StartXX and FinishXX fields into a new Table to see
the values over time. Hope this helps.

Hi Dale,
Can i do this saving with a formula or macro. I do not want to manually save
interim plans every time. It has to be done automatically.
My only problem is retaing one set of old date and new date, however many
time the date field is changed.
