Saving passwords in Outlook

All of a sudden, Outlook will not store passwords for my email accounts. Can
anyone help me figure out why?

I have deleted & reloaded the email accounts.

I have clicked the "Save password" button in the initial setup and everytime
Outlook asks for the passwords.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm sorry. I have Outlook 2003 with Windows XP Home edition.

I get no error messages, only the pop-up window requesting password input in
order to send/receive email.

Thank you. Sorry for the omission. It is Outlook 2003 on Windows XP Home
Edition. I will read the articles and let you know the outcome.
