saving pictures as jpeg in outlook

I get pictures sent to me 'inserted' in the body of e-mail messages. I read
them in Outlook 2000 Win XP. I want to save them as jpegs but the system
defaults to bmp. How do I change the system settings or do I have to convert
them all back to jpegs using a different program?
