Saving PP project to a CD or DVD

S

Sandra

I have made a power point presentation but when I try to
do a pack and go to a CD or DVD, it won't allow me. I get
a message that reads incorrect function and then another
message that says I do not have access to this drive and
should see the administrator. I AM the administrator! I
know this function is at least possible with a CD. Why
can't I do it? Thanks for any advice you can give me.

Sanda,

It sounds like you are trying to "write information to the CD" from
powerpoint.

Your best option is to copy everything to a new directory on your C: drive.
Then use your "Cd-writer" software to burn/write information to the CD.

You should not save directly to removable media (floppy, CD, DVD). Save
first to your hard drive. Then use CD burning software to burn the files to
CD.

You can and should use the pack and go utility to make
sure your links work, and you should keep all files in the
same folder, preferably not a desktop or my docs folder.

Be aware that the 2003 beta of PowerPoint has a package to
CD utility whihc includes a new Viewer -- but the advice
of others is right on -- you should first package your
work to a local folder before beginning the burn.

This gives you a backup, a place to test, and reduces
potential burning errors.
