Saving project file as a pdf or equivalent for printing purposes

I need to send print shops a project file saved in a
format other than project, so that they can enlarge the
gant chart to a 40"x 30" sheet. They prefer pdf.

Can project files be saved in pdf?
If so, how?

Is there any other format suitable for print shops that
project can be saved as?

There are free PDF makers available,but I've not used. See
www.adobe.com/acrobat for Adobe Acrobat. With this tool, create the PDF
onto a virtual page of 40x30 inches.
