Saving project to MS Access database in MSP 2007

In MSP 2003 I was able to save my project to an MS Access database
through the SaveAs command, however I cant do this in MSP 2007. Has
this function been removed or am I missing something here?

The help says "You cannot save to the MDB format using Microsoft Office
Project 2007, but you can open projects that are stored in MDB files." What
a drag. I have used this feature extensively.

Ok, I have some problems with the help files on my PC so haven't been
able to access them. Anyhow it doesn't sound like good news. I
probably have to rewrite some parts of our code that handles saving
the project to save to another format then.

Yes, this functionality was officially removed from Microsoft Office Project
2007. Sorry.

I have been able to use Project Server 2003 as a data store in a similar way
to how I've used Access mdb files. When the schedule is stored in Project
Server, you can access on all of the tables (from SQL Server) that were
available in Access. I pointed my Access code to the Project/SQL Server
using an ODBC connection and my reports worked with only minor modification.
I haven't tested this yet in Project Server 2007, but the early indication is
that it will work.
