Saving Projects to Project Server

C

Chris

Morning All,

I am having to call upon your expertise once again. I will keep this
problem high level.

When a plan is created outside the Project Server, the end date and the
leveling process is correct. If you click level project, the little bar in
the bottom will click a few bars every few seconds. Everything works out
great.

But when you take the plan to the server it will ask you to replace the
resouces with people that match in our resource pool's whos ids are pulled
from Active Directory. I will click yes, then it will take all of the
leveling out of the plan. MS Project will decided that everyone can work
30-40 hours in each day that they are assigned to a task.

It seems it is stacking the tasks with the same start dates and not leveling
them like it should, when I click level project I do clear out the prior
leveling and it will be level in less than a second but the dates will not
change to the correct date.

Any help?

Thanks
CHris

Chris:

In the stand-alone plan, leveling is based on the resources 100% dedication
to the project without conflicts. When you level inside Project Server, all
project assignments for the resources are considered across all plans. Could
that explain the leveling difference you see?
