Saving Resource Pool File

I have about 5 different projects all opened at the same
time and linked to the same resource pool. As I closed
each individual project plan, it ask me if I want to same
the pool. I click OK. After all of the project plans are
closed, the pool file is still open. When I close this,
it then asks me to save it. If I do, I have to re-name
it. If I say no, are my changes still saved?

I don't think so. It sounds as though something odd may have happened to this file. I saw something similar with a plan I had open the other day. Have you checked with your server admin? They should be able to tell when the file was last updated.
