"Saving" styles from one document to another

Just starting out using styles. I have created some of my
own, they stay with the document they are created in, but
how do I "save" them to the normal template or wherever
I'm supposed to save them, so that they're available in
other documents?

For the Styles that you have already completed you can use
the organizer to move styles back and forth between
templates and documents (In Word2000 that is Format>Style
and click the organizer button).

When creating new styles use can check "add to template"
in the new style dialog box.

You can add existing styles to the template by opening Format Style,
pressing Modify, and checking the box--*much* easier than fooling with the
Organizer!
