I am using Word 97 with Win 2K. Have recently been
getting errors when saving files to/opening files from a
network drive.
When saving, I get a Microsoft Word error box that
says: "This is not a valid filename. Try one or more of
the following: * Check the path to make sure it was typed
correctly. * Select a file from the list of files and
folders." I can save to a local drive with no problem,
using the same filename, so the name is not the issue.
When opening a previously saved file from a network
location, I get the error: "This file could not be found.
Try one or more of the following: *Check the spelling of
the name of the document. *Try a different file name." If
I am selecting a file from a list, the file name and
spelling are correct.
Have tried updating the service pack for Word 97, but am
still getting the errors.
