saving to flashdrive

I can't open saved OneNote files. I save my files to a flashdrive, but when I
go to open them OneNote just opens whatever is on the hard drive. For
example, I have the same notebook in OneNote on two different computers. I
change something on a page in that notebook on one computer. Then, I save the
notebook to a flashdrive, and try to open the notebook on my second computer.
OneNote on the second computer just opens what it has in it's own version of
the page, it doesn't show the changes that I saved to my flashdrive version,
even though I am using the file on the flashdrive!! Any ideas?? My problem is
that if I accidentally delete pages on my laptop I can't go back to my backup
version on my flashdrive because OneNote will only open the current version
saved on the hard drive even when I open the flashdrive files.
I really appreciate the help.
Thanks
seth

Thanks for the input Bob. I don't however understand what info in that post
would be of help to me. Are you sure that is the right date?

Did you see the entry:

"OneNote Notebooks on USB drives and SD cards
Do you want a OneNote notebook synced between two computers but don't have a
network connection between them, or don't want to create a file share? A
simple solution is to store a notebook on a USB drive, an SD card or other
removable media. We specifically designed for this scenario with OneNote
2007."

Did you read David Rasmussen's article meanwhile?

To me it seems that you are doing things the wrong way.
When working with a flashdrive the notebook files must *not* be held on
the computers.
They have to be on the *flashdrive* only. Then ON will work with the
cache and everything gets synchronized automatically when the stick is
inserted.

Therefore do the following:
1.) Close the notebooks on the computers and delete (move) them so that
they get out of sight for ON.
2.) Open all notebooks from the stick.
3.) Always leave all notebooks open in ON. You may close ON itself but
don't close the notebooks.

If any further questions pls ask
